Our story
A family heritage, four generations deep
"It's in the blood" is the best way to describe the passion that has always connected the Potter family to automobiles. What started in a small-town garage in the 1940s has grown into the trusted shop Caswell County brings its tires, trucks, and fleets to today.
Jerry & Jenny Potter purchased Caswell Tire Service in 2006 and spent nearly two decades building it into the shop the county counts on. In January 2026 they handed the keys to their son Carl — the fourth generation — who carries the same promise that's defined the family name for over sixty years: do honest work, charge a fair price, and tell you the truth about your vehicle.

Lee Potter opens a garage in Leasburg, NC, and earns a reputation as an A-1 mechanic.

1960s
Carl Potter runs Potter's Garage in Blanch, NC, and with Lee owns and operates the North End Esso filling station and garage in Reidsville, NC.

Third generation
Jerry — son of Carl — earns an electrical-engineering degree from NC State and works as an automotive engineer, before he and Jenny decide to move back to the county they love.

Jenny & Jerry purchase Caswell Tire Service, raising their family here and growing it into the shop the county trusts.

Their son Carl — the fourth generation, named for his grandfather — takes the wheel, bringing modern ADAS expertise home to Caswell Tire.

Meet Carl Potter
In January 2026, Carl Potter took the wheel — the fourth generation of Potters to keep Caswell County moving. If you've been coming here a while, you already know him: Carl grew up in these bays, learning the trade the way every Potter has, and folks have watched him around the shop since he was knee-high to a lug wrench.
But Carl didn't take the easy road home. He built a successful career in ADAS — the Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems behind the lane-keeping, blind-spot and collision warnings, and automatic braking in today's vehicles — becoming an expert in the computerized brains of the modern automobile. Then, just like his father Jerry before him, he chose family and home over the career ladder, moving back to Caswell County with his wife, Sarah, to carry the tradition forward.
That's what makes Caswell Tire better than ever: four generations of honest, hands-on mechanical know-how, now paired with cutting-edge expertise in the high-tech systems that run modern cars and trucks. New energy, same family handshake — and the shop is humming. Come see what the next generation is building.
